Search engine on Apakabar news archives 1990-2002 -- plus others

Dear all,

Ridho Reinanda, researcher in the Elite Network Shifts project (http://www.kitlv.nl/home/Projects?id=25), has opened up another historical news archive with his Lucene search engine. It is John MacDougall's apakabar news service, the first Indonesian online news service of the internet era, with tens of 1000s of articles dating between 1990 and 2002:

Try the ngram viewer ('document histogram'). Putting "*" into the search box yields a graph of the number of articles per year.

The search interface is experimental, 'as is', without warranty. For example, there seem to be some connectivity issues for users far from Amsterdam.
